Triathlon World differentiates itself from other triathlon magazines as it has a training orientation (and of course the unique minimal layout) . That’s the reason why we are trying to interview athletes that they have a strong & unique training philosophy. Denmark is a unique country as it’s a small nation that has produced many high level Triathletes, e.g Susanne Nielsen, Rasmus Henning e.t.c. We always wanted to find out what’s the secret behind this Danish succes in Triathlon through the years.
From this beautiful country comes Helle Frederiksen – who was an elite swimmer – is a top triathlete and a sports scientist at the same time.
Helle was born in Holstebro, Denmark in 1981. She was involved in sports at the age of 5 which was swimming. At the age of 12 she was selected for the National Team in swimming. She was on the National Team for 7 years before she stopped her career in swimming. It took her 6 years before she started Triathlon – in the mean while she travelled around the world and started at University. She started doing triathlon in 2005/2006.
Read her interview at the 5th issue of our magazine together with th interview of Triathlon legend and 2004 Olympic Gold medallist Kate Allen. She gives many advices and training tips that are usefule to all age group triathletes but to elite triathletes as well.
